DID YOU KNOW?

A horse should be fed at ground level (natural) grazing position.  This allows forward movement of the Mandible (jaw) into proper position for the incisors to align correctly.

-  A horses teeth is the first stage of the digestive process.

-  The number one cause of farm accidents in North America is horses!.  Equine dentistry can help avoid accidents and save lives, by eliminating painful dental issues in your horses.

Horses can have major dental issues with NO outward signs.

-  Equine dentistry is the most neglected area of horse care today.

-  Floating or filing the sharp points of  a horses molars constitutes less than 10 percent of the dental care the typical domestic horse needs.

-  Do you own a young horse?  Between the ages of 2 and 5, your horse is going to erupt about 40 permanent teeth and shed 24 baby teeth or "caps".  You can greatly increase your horses comfort and promote future good dental health by having the equine dentist pull adhering "caps" at the right time.

- Do you own a older horse?.  Horses teeth come to the end of their lives beginning about 20 years old.  Loose expired teeth are often painful to the horse and causes him to eat very slowly or to fail to grind their food thoroughly, causing a loss of body condition.  This effect can be greatly reduced with proper dental care.

Equine Dental Equilibration is the art and science of balancing horses teeth to enhance mastication, nutrition and performance.

Cribbing can be a sign of oral discomfort.

- Of the approximately 122,000,000 horses mules and donkeys in the world today, many receive little or no dental maintenance, if their teeth were maintained on a regular bases the food savings would be astronomical, because the horse, mule and donkey can provide various forms of occupational and recreational value, we need to be aware of our responsibility as owners.  A large number of farm and ranch accidents unfortunately do involve horses, many of these accidents are caused by a combination of Inexperienced horse handlers and horses with problem teeth that cause excruciating pain.

- Properly installed Bit Seats "Greatly Improve" a horses comfort and performance.

Some Benefits of Equine Dentistry

-  Increased longevity 5 to 10 years.

-  Superior performance.

-  Much higher feed efficiency

-  Reduced risk of colic, and colic related issues.

-  Improved communication between horse and rider. ( communication can take place at it's most basic level, pain free )

-  Release from physical and mental pain

-  Save human and horses lives by lowering the incidence of accidents.

-  Save horse owners money on training, example:  A horse will never turn right or left willingly, and resistance free if there is pain involved, and it hurts him.  However, remove pain and discomfort and watch the horses natural willingness and desire to please come through.  This will maximize training dollars.
